It’s not all high revs and burning rubber at the Historic Leyburn Sprints. Whether you’re a spectator or an owner, there’s plenty to enjoy off-track at the popular Show ‘n’ Shine and Vintage Van displays.
The Show ‘n’ Shine is a Sunday highlight that attracts dozens of beautiful garage queens and even a few motorbikes. Bring your own machine and enter one of the many classes, the winner of each rewarded with a prize of fantastic Bowden’s Own car care products.
The show area this year is in a new location in the grounds of St Matthews Catholic Church, at the top of Warwick Street and just outside the Sprints precinct. You can enter on the day from 7am and the cost is $15 per vehicle.
To find out which vehicles the judges consider the best, be there for the trophy presentation around 1.00pm.

The Vintage Vans are a highly popular feature with family visitors and again will be parked in a colourful display at the rear of the Royal Hotel.
See up to 30 great vans and matching vintage tow vehicles that take you back to the days of summer holidays. These charming little homes away from home typically display many period features, from the kitchenware and curtains decorating the interiors to beautifully set up annexes and warm campfires.
The winners will be announced at 4pm on Saturday and everyone is welcome to be there.
