Leyburn Sprints Receive QERDP Funding
The Leyburn Historic Sprints is benefiting from funding under the Queensland Events Regional Development Program (QERDP).
The QERDP is an investment program designed to extend the flow of economic and social benefits of events to regional Queensland.
Leyburn is located in the Southern Downs Regional Council, Queensland, Australia. A sleepy little township which was once a bustling goldfield. Leyburn is 219 km southwest of Brisbane and 36 km from Clifton, Toowoomba is approx 75km’s away and Warwick is approx 60km's away so it is out their on its own, but for two days each year when it come alive. Tickets are available at the gate during the event. Gates open 6.30 am.
Adult: $20 per day or $30 for Weekend Pass
Children: Free under 14 (School ID required)
Competition starts at 8 am to 5 pm Saturday, 8 am to roughly 3.00 pm Sunday.
Food and drinks
Food and drinks are available during the event, this includes food prepared by local community organisations and counter meals are available from the Leyburn Hotel. A fully licensed bar is also located in the event area near the track for easy viewing of the race and 2 coffee vendors are located on site as are a few other commercial vendors with specialty products.
Basic (unpowered) campsites are available in a designated area across from the General Store for tents, caravans, campervans etc at $45 per car/tent/camper/mobile home/etc from Thursday through to Monday. Camp sites can be booked here. Other nights are free, but are subject to maximum stay periods as per Southern Downs Regional Council policy. These fees assist the committee offset some of the costs in providing extra showers and toilets for your convenience over the weekend. Firewood is not included but is available for sale on site.
Camping in the paddock area, or other areas of the race precinct is strictly for competitors and their crew. These cannot be pre-booked, for further information on camping in this area, refer to the supplementary regulations.
